Letter: Failed comedians
Enough is indeed enough. Chuck Annal said it quite well in his letter asking the Monitor to find some new writers for the “Insider” column (“Childish columnists,” Sunday Monitor, Sept. 1). However, I have a better idea: Why don’t you send them back to the weekly insert where they came from? Their brand of “humor” fits much better into that type of media than it does in an actual newspaper. I used to enjoy leaving my copy of the Monitor behind in the airport when I travel, but I’m embarrassed to do so now. I don’t want people from outside our town thinking that Concord is the capital city of failed comedians. Let’s keep the news in the newspaper, and the bad jokes in the insert that goes directly from the mailbox to my recycle bin every Tuesday. Or, if you feel you must keep this column going, throw that Tim O’Shea guy a bone. Then at least I’d actually get a laugh.
