Letter: Our local pub
Re “Open but struggling” (Monitor front page, Sept. 7):
It is my sincere hope that the Covered Bridge Restaurant in Contoocook will be able to weather this unfortunate series of events. My husband and I have eaten there regularly in the past and will continue to do so. We do not blame the restaurant for the fact we each had to get a shot several weeks ago. The Covered Bridge is our local pub, if you will. Staff there know you, you see familiar faces from around town and the food and service is good! They actively support the local music scene. Other local businesses should be supportive of each other, especially during difficult times. Although unpleasant, it is important to remember that hepatitis A is not fatal, but treatable. The source was external to the restaurant and could happen anywhere food is being handled. The sign says open – let’s hope it stays that way.
