Letter: Fix the bridge already!
If City Engineer Ed Roberge, City Manager Tom Aspell, Mayor Jim Bouley, Sen. Jeanne Shaheen and Rep. Annie Kuster traveled daily as much as we do, the Sewalls Falls Bridge would have been replaced long ago.
I have lived on Manor Road since 1957 and have seen first-hand on how this bridge has been deteriorating. I have noticed the rust tire marks leaving the bridge being dragged longer and further after leaving bridge. The guard rails are also full of rust. The next event on the bridge will not be pretty, and something has to be done. What are we waiting for? The money has been there for a long time; where is the drag? As usual, Washington.
We will have a beautiful downtown Concord before anything is done. Don’t get me wrong, I love what is happening in Concord. Trust me, lives are at stake on the Sewalls Falls Bridge.
Just look how much money has been spent so far on trying to patch it up. As usual, what our government officials have as priority makes no sense.
