Letter: Important election for Franklin
I attended the forum in Franklin. I left feeling disappointed, especially concerning the school board candidates. Same old, same old! Accusations! Accusations! But not any substance! The fact that these candidates haven’t an inkling of what Common Core is says it all. Whether you’re for or against it, you should at least know what it is. Especially if you are already on the school board.
It is also my understanding that the football coach was not fired by the school board. His contract was not renewed. There is a difference. There were also issues with NHIAA. These issues jeopardized our standings athletically and, more important, scholastically. In other words, if your child qualifies for a sport scholarship but the school is not sanctioned by NHIAA, your child will not get that scholarship. Is that what voters want?
Franklin elections are today. This is an important day for Franklin, especially if you have children in Franklin schools. I’m supporting Gwen Hall. She is my daughter but, more important, she is an experienced educator who understands the complex issues facing the schools today. We need a new perspective and less old baggage. Vote today! Be transparent. Vote for Gwen Hall.
