Letter: Rubens is the real deal
Christa Liakos makes some ill-informed charges against Jim Rubens (“Rubens is in line with Cruz, Monitor letter, Oct. 7).
Rubens is more than a “defund and repeal” Republican, as she so negatively puts it. He is more of a “repeal and replace” type – a solution we need. Obamacare increases costs, reduces access and will end the 40-hour work week as we know it. Rubens has proposed a one-year delay and replacement of Obamacare with a reform package that would reduce health care costs, increase health care quality and improve access.
If you ask him, he’d gladly go into detail about this reform package. As for reducing the cost of living for low-income Americans, Rubens has proposed means testing Social Security so benefits for millionaires are phased out and this vital program remains fiscally sustainable for the future. He supports more non-profit community health clinics – like the one being organized for the Mascoma Valley area – to reduce the cost of primary care, medicines and insurance, and to provide greater access to nearby health care for all, including for low-income families who have transportation difficulties. These solutions are some among many others.
Rubens is the real deal, a proven leader with more than just ideas. His solutions can solve the largest issues in America and in New Hampshire. I invite anyone to attend an event with Rubens, as I have, to truly learn about his solutions in detail. That is, after all, how politics work in New Hampshire.
