Letter: Vote Todd for Penacook

When I announced that I would not be running for a seventh term as Concord’s Ward 1 city councilor, of course I was concerned about who would follow in my footsteps. I felt that I had succeeded, with my fellow councilors, in putting Penacook on the map and bringing the village to the brink of revitalization. Obviously I want someone with the same passion to pursue the vision and also keep the things we hold so dear, such as the Penacook Branch Library – something I have been fighting for, for more than 30 years.

When I learned that Brent Todd was serious about running, I jumped on his bandwagon. Although he is not a Penacook native, Todd has many years of involvement in and planning for the village. He was a part of Concord 20/20 since its inception and became president of the organization. More important, he was in charge of Project Penacook 20/20 Design Task Force, in which he organized and hosted dozens of meetings and planning sessions. These venues allowed for public input as to what the residents envisioned for the future of Penacook.

This project group evolved into the Penacook Village Association. Todd remains actively involved in the organization and serves as co-chairman of the Business and Events Subcommittee. Living here with his wife and two children, Todd has put his heart and soul into Penacook Village. He is the best candidate for Ward 1 city councilor.
