Hi 23° | Lo 8°

Letter: Herschlag is your man

I would like to let everyone in Ward 2 know that Allan Herschlag is running for city council in the November election.

I have known both Herschlag and his wife, Cathy, for many years, and I have been impressed with the work ethic that he shows about the workings of Concord’s government. He attends council meetings, meets with city officials, all in the interest of staying informed and keeping the council on its toes. If you want to make sure that someone is looking at how much things cost in Concord and if a project makes sense, then Herschlag is your man. Everyone should care about keeping the tax rate as low as possible, whether you are a single person, a family or a retiree. As Herschlag has said, “When the city invests money in new projects, there needs to be a payback not only for the developer, but for the community at large.”

Herschlag also wants to solicit public opinion at the beginning of a project so that people will feel part of the process at the beginning. He will be a good watchdog on the council, and you can feel comfortable electing him from Ward 2. Please vote for Herschlag on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Alan's blog on the Patch is very thorough and thoughtful. I especially like the way he called out Bully Bouley on the Bearcat. I think this man is principled. I hope that folks support him.
