Letter: Herschlag has earned it
It is with great pleasure I endorse Allan Herschlag for the Ward 2 seat on the city council.
As a longtime Concord resident, I have often felt left out or under-represented on issues that come before our city council. Like many folks I know, my household spends a lot of time researching and asking questions on budgetary items that come before the council. Rarely do our elected officials manage to find the time to answer a question, or even allow a city resident the feeling that one’s concerns have been heard. Public hearings often leave a bad taste, as though the issues have been decided before the public was allowed to have a say. With a council overloaded with activists and lobbyists, many of whom appear to have a vested interest in outcomes of projects that may not be in the best interest of the majority of the folks in our city, it’s time for the election of folks who are willing to do the legwork and research and are looking out for the very taxpayers who support our city’s coffers.
Herschlag has earned the right to be elected for the Ward 2 seat. He knows how to look for answers, ask the right questions and, most important, finds the time to listen to the concerns of folks in our city. I urge folks to take the time to meet Herschlag and get to the polls on Nov. 5.
