Letter: Elect Todd in Penacook
Back in 2007 Concord 20/20, under Brent Todd’s leadership, invited villagers like myself to participate in local visioning sessions that eventually led to the formation of the Penacook Village Association. Through these local grassroots meetings Todd taught me that I do have a voice, and that I can make a difference.
Over these past six years there have been many opportunities when the city met with the villagers. Todd, as a Penacook Village Association board member, helped to coordinate these public events and turn them into comfortable community gatherings.
There were also times when we were encouraged to give public testimony. Todd showed us how it was done without fear or animosity.
Penacook aspires to be a walkable village. Todd serves on the Transportation Policy Advisory Committee and the Public Transportation Subcommittee. He is familiar with the Safe Routes to School Task Force that hopes to bring viable safe travel plans to Merrimack Valley School District students in Penacook and Boscawen.
Through Todd’s leadership I have learned how to be a more actively engaged and caring citizen in our revitalized village. “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime” (Maimonides). Thank you, Brent, for teaching me how to fish!
