Letter: Cofrin will balance needs of students, teachers, taxpayers
I am writing in support of my husband, Rusty Cofrin, for Concord School Board in District C.
Cofrin has worked hard for the school district and was always there for anyone who needed an extra hand. As a teacher and coach, for 27 years, he has been an integral part of many lives that have passed through the corridors of Concord High School. He was an involved parent as all three of our children passed through elementary, middle and high school in Concord. As a parent and taxpayer, he knows the delicate balance of wanting the best for his kids and worrying about the tax bill when it hits our mailbox. He has a great passion for making sure the children of Concord have a quality education and access to sports and other recreational after school activities. His experience of being in the classroom puts him in a unique position to balance the needs of the students, the expectations of the teachers and the concerns of the city taxpayers.
No one has all the answers, but having an open mind and a willingness to take a seat at the table for discussions is a great place to start. He will be a great addition to the board. Please take time to vote on Tuesday and cast your vote for Rusty Cofrin for school board.
