Letter: Stay involved, candidates
Over the past few weeks I attended candidate forums and met some city council candidates in person. I was impressed by the overall high level of thought and caring about the community expressed by all.
For those candidates who found themselves on the lower side of the vote count yesterday, I issue this challenge: Don’t just go home and wait two years for the next election. Stay involved – we need your energy in the city. Engage the citizens and the elected officials; bring your voice to the table and continue to work for what you believe in. Keep things positive; that always helps. A respectful tone makes you sound smarter.
In Concord we are seeing some significant opportunities that will reshape the city for years to come. If you were concerned enough to run, please show that you meant it by staying involved. Thank you all for caring.
