Letter: Something to be thankful for
This letter is for the New Hampshire residents who have been denied the opportunity to receive Medicaid by the Senate Republicans. Residents who live in Senate District 2 might have received a newsletter from our state senator, Jeanie Forrester, in which she wished for us a safe and happy holiday as she herself would be having, surrounded by her husband, friends and her dogs.
I, too, had a wonderful Thanksgiving but what helped make it so wonderful is the fact that my husband and I are of the age that we have Medicare to protect us with any health issue that may come our way, and all of my children and their families have health insurance.
I wish Forrester would back up her good wishes with action by accepting Medicaid expansion on behalf of her most vulnerable constituents.
If ever given an opportunity to so dramatically and positively affect the lives and possibly the fate of so many people, I could think of nothing better than to act responsibly to help the people in my state.
That would truly be something to be thankful for.
Please, senators, stop the delaying tactics and vote in favor of federally funded Medicaid expansion.
