Letter: Glorifying sick individuals

Re “The Brotherhood: ‘All tough kids’ ” (Dec. 8):

You cannot imagine my disgust upon opening my Sunday Monitor and seeing the front section filled with the story about the racist group BOWW – the Brotherhood of White Warriors – especially on the day devoted to prayer and celebration for former South African president Nelson Mandela.

The Monitor’s insensitivity to focus on a racist group of thugs at such a time is beyond comprehension. What makes you think that we, your readers, are interested in such a twisted group, and why focus and glorify such sick individuals by writing of them individually? Do we really have to put up with the sequel? This is a time of peace and putting forth positive energy, not hate and violence. Where is you consciousness ?

They're not glorifying Carolyn. It's called investigative journalism. It's also called "know your enemy."
