Letter: What’s Brown’s climate plan?

Re “Ayotte’s sensible conservation decision” (Monitor letter, Dec. 16):

Perhaps Sen. Kelly Ayotte won’t be the only New Hampshire Republican who’ll be remembered for sensible decisions with regard to environmental protection. If Scott Brown runs for the Republican Senate nomination and comes to the table with a strong climate action plan, he could go a long way toward restoring the GOP’s credibility on this issue. Jim Rubens, who is currently running for the nomination, has already put forward a strong climate action plan, a “pro-growth tax swap” that cuts corporate and income taxes as well as carbon pollution. Brown, who stood up for climate protection as a senator in Massachusetts, has a chance to once again show leadership by putting forward a climate plan as vigorous as that of Rubens. By doing so, he could help restore the Republican Party’s health in New England – as well as the health of our planet.

Here is the best energy plan: 1) Drill baby drill! 2) Get off of all foreign oil 3) allow oil companies to keep more of their profits if they invest 1/2 of them in green energy. Best plan ever!!
