When the movie Admission opens in theaters next spring, most viewers will be looking for Tina Fey, Paul Rudd, Wallace Shawn and others. Me, I’ll be scouring the screen for a glimpse of the Monitor.

We get frequent requests to reuse Monitor photographs and news stories – in newsletters, magazines, etc. Once in a blue moon, we hear from Hollywood, too. If people are filming a movie in New Hampshire or about New Hampshire, the props department will want to add some authenticity. Sometimes, having the actual local newspaper strewn casually on a desktop or in someone’s briefcase is just the ticket.

In Admission, a kid from a New Hampshire prep school is applying to Princeton – hence the request for permission to use the Monitor in the movie. Even when we give permission in cases like this, the producers don’t always follow through. Who knows what might end up on the cutting-room floor, alas.

Meanwhile, here’s the movie's first released trailer.

So far, no sign of us!
