Plenty of politics in store for Independence Day in N.H.

Politics and Independence Day go together like hot dogs and buns.

Gov. Maggie Hassan is scheduled to march this morning in Amherst’s Fourth of July parade, then speak this afternoon at Strawbery Banke Museum in Portsmouth during “An American Celebration.”

U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen will be at Strawbery Banke this morning, when about 125 people will take the Oath of Allegiance to become U.S. citizens. U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte posted a holiday video message yesterday on YouTube.

And up at Bretton Woods, longtime Executive Councilor Ray Burton is holding his annual July 4 celebration at the Omni Mount Washington Resort & Hotel this evening.
