Letter: Ardinger is ready for Senate
I am writing to endorse Kass Ardinger for state Senate in Concord, Henniker, Hopkinton and Warner.
I have known Kass for more than 25 years. We each have three children, and our oldest children are the same age and were friends growing up.
Through the years, we became invested in the community in an effort to both give back and be active agents working toward a community that supported family, education and quality of life. When Kass decided to run for the school board, it seemed like a natural evolution. Who could have predicted that her tenure there would overlap with the most difficult recession in nearly a century?
For five years, Kass led the school board, balancing the growing needs of the schools, a huge construction project and the acute knowledge of the strain on homeowners’ ability to pay taxes.
During that time, understandably, emotions ran high. Kass served when all school board members represented the entire city, and she reached out to all areas of the community, getting re-elected even amid the most intense period of controversy. As board president, Kass managed a $70 million-plus budget and the largest construction project in the district’s history, working with other board members to best utilize funding sources to minimize impact on local taxpayers.
A lifelong New Hampshire resident, Kass has the understanding, skills and experience to continue to serve area residents well. Please join me in supporting Kass Ardinger for state Senate.
