Letter: Stark contrast
Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has laid out his foreign policy position. The differences between the two top candidates could not be clearer.
If you are a neo-con Teabagger and believe we should unilaterally and preemptively strike possible enemies of the United States, Romney is your boy. If you think that the United States should be the police force of the world, vote the Republican ticket. If you believe we should escalate the conflict in Syria and get involved in another war in the Middle East, vote GOP.
On the other hand, if you believe we should get out of the conflicts in the Middle East, pick President Obama. If you believe we need to get the rest of the world involved in policing rogue states like we did in Libya, vote for the incumbent president. If you believe we should try to contain the Middle Eastern conflicts and prevent a regional war, vote Democratic. If you would rather use economic pressures to force rogue state compliance with international conventions rather than sending our troops into war, again vote Obama.
Remember, if Romney gets elected, and when he starts the next Middle East conflict, it won’t be the rich kids that go to war.
