Letter: Stark contrast

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has laid out his foreign policy position. The differences between the two top candidates could not be clearer.

If you are a neo-con Teabagger and believe we should unilaterally and preemptively strike possible enemies of the United States, Romney is your boy. If you think that the United States should be the police force of the world, vote the Republican ticket. If you believe we should escalate the conflict in Syria and get involved in another war in the Middle East, vote GOP.

On the other hand, if you believe we should get out of the conflicts in the Middle East, pick President Obama. If you believe we need to get the rest of the world involved in policing rogue states like we did in Libya, vote for the incumbent president. If you believe we should try to contain the Middle Eastern conflicts and prevent a regional war, vote Democratic. If you would rather use economic pressures to force rogue state compliance with international conventions rather than sending our troops into war, again vote Obama.

Remember, if Romney gets elected, and when he starts the next Middle East conflict, it won’t be the rich kids that go to war.

Meanwhile, 30,000+ dead people and counting in Syria.

Correct Alan. Did Romney go in the service? No. Did he get a religious deferment? Yes. Did he offend the Brits when he went to the UK during the Summer Olympics? Yep. He's not much on foreign policy or much of a diplomat when abroad, actually he's more arrogant than anything republican or democrat and not anyone who has the country's best interest at heart. Obama gets my vote.

One only has to look at the foreign policy of this adminstration to see what is going on. An adminstration that cannot even put decent security in an embassy after repeated requests, has a major problem with how they run those departments. And for some, makes them worry where else this adminstration is incompetent. The idea that any President, Rep or Dem is a warmonger is just plain dumb. That pretty much says that a President is going to send our troops to war without trying other means to settle disputes. War is always a last resort for all presidents.
