Letter: Hill for the House

I strongly support Gregory Hill for state representative in Northfield and part of Franklin.

I have known Hill for several years, but in the past year I have gotten to know him quite well.

In 2012, as a freshman member of the House Education Committee, he was a prime player in the passage of signature legislation that allows parents a real opportunity for school choice.

The Cato Institute has called this piece of school choice legislation the best in the country.

This is a remarkable accomplishment for any state representative, let alone a freshman.

Hill really listens and communicates very well with his constituents. He asks excellent questions until he really understands the issue. He is very persistent and he is effective because he has learned quickly how the House and the Senate together actually work on new legislation.

The people of Northfield and part of Franklin are very fortunate to be represented in the New Hampshire House by Greg Hill. He deserves your continued support and your vote on Nov. 6.

BILL GRIMM

Franklin

I read Hill's bio and voting record. It's as if someone were making a movie and wanted to find someone to cast as the ultimate Tea-Party/Free-State/Libertarian rich guy. He's for guns everywhere with NO restrictions - not even ones that are in place currently. He's for EVERY benefit for the rich you can think of. He's AGAINST every benefit for the poor, the elderly, the sick, the mentally ill, etc you can think of. He's AGAINST any rights for public sector workers and he's FOR diverting public funds to PRIVATE RELIGIOUS schools even though that's explicitly forbidden in our Constitution. He's AGAINST even CONSIDERING an income tax even though THAT'S forbidden in our Constitution(see yesterday's editorial and also a brilliant opinion piece about this subject from yesterday's paper.) He's for Govt' intrusion into women's lives vis a vis healthcare/abortion/contraception, etc. Even though THAT would mean MORE GOVT. which goes against the concept of LESS GOVT. One bright spot . . . he's not in favor of overturning gay marriage. I guess even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in awhile.
