Hi 40° | Lo 25°

Letter: To the rescue

Our daughter, Suzanne, was one of the nine Pembroke Academy students who thought her summer trip to Spain was canceled due to the travel company’s bankruptcy. Our family had worked together over the past two years to make this trip possible! It was hard to face the fact it wasn’t going to happen. Yes, all the children had travel insurance, but who knew what would happen there.

Never in our wildest dreams did we think that a group such as the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation would step in to make the trip possible. Words cannot express our appreciation to this wonderful organization!

We admit we had not heard of them before. But now that we know all the wonderful things they do, they will be on our giving list. All of the families involved, if we receive any money from our insurance, will be donating it back, so others can benefit.

Thank you, Charitable Foundation.
