Letter: Kinder and gentler
What happened to the good old days, when people smiled and said hello or good morning and neighbors helped neighbors? Life was much simpler and happier. You knew if or when you were in trouble, someone would help. It wasn’t just about me, it was about us – caring and sharing.
Let’s get it all back again. Know your neighbors – help them when and if you can. Treat people as you wish to be treated – with caring and respect. It might take a little practice to get accustomed to this new you, but it will be worth it. It also will be a ripple effect – from one person to another. A smile and a simple thank-you is not expected, but it sure is appreciated.
A smile or a helping hand costs nothing, but the feeling of worth it gives to you and the recipient is beyond measure.
Let us begin a new trend. Try it, you just might like it. It will certainly help to make America a kinder and gentler place to live.
