Letter: Thanks, teachers
In the past few years it has become deservedly popular to thank current and past members of the military for their service. There have also been sincere and worthwhile efforts to recognize our first responders, who risk life and limb to keep us safe. Now that school has begun for another year, I would like to recommend that we thank another group of public servants for their efforts: the many wonderful and dedicated teachers who keep the dreams of our children alive and the future of our country safe. The level of expertise among our teachers today is better than it’s ever been, and we are continuing to find better ways to educate all of our children.
As a result of the appreciation shown to other public servants, more people correctly perceive them in a positive light. Let’s give that same recognition to our educators and help them to continue to be part of the solution rather than being seen as part of the problem. To all teachers: Thank you for your service!
