Letter: Despicable theft
How can anyone who steals gifts from another person’s family sleep at night?
We sent a Christmas package to our son, daughter-in-law and two grandsons through the post office. We had no doubt it would arrive safe and sound in Colorado. However when the package arrived, the box had been cut open with a sharp object and all of the contents gone. The only place our package had been was in the post office distribution areas from New Hampshire to Colorado. Items that cannot be replaced that were purchased specifically for our children and grandsons.
My husband is ill and on disability, and I am the sole provider for our family. We work hard for our money, plan and put great thought into each gift. Times are tough for everyone, but this act is inexcusable. We will replace the gifts, not before Christmas comes, and certainly will think twice about how we ship our items to our family. I hope this person can sleep at night knowing they stole from a hardworking family.
