It’s marathon Monday!

This marks the 117th year of the Boston Marathon, and more than 27,000 participants are expected to run.

But Boston isn’t in New Hampshire, who what’s the big deal right?

There’s plenty of Granite State connections to the famous race. For instance, did you know that there’s been only one winner from New Hampshire? It was Henri Renaud in 1909.

Even though there haven’t been any other winners from New Hampshire, there’s been plenty of other highlights.

There’s a couple of Granite Staters to keep your eye on today as well.

Sinthy Kounlasa is running in her 10th Boston Marathon, and Joe Conway of Bedford is running in honor of his late-wife, Maryse. Walpole runner Heidi Westover, who finished 4th among women in 2010 is one of 11 runners from the Monadnock Region.

So good luck to all of our Granite State runners, and thanks for making me feel lazy today!
