Hopkinton Town Band seeking new members

If you play a band instrument – or if you ever played one – then the Hopkinton Town Band wants you!

The Hopkinton Town Band is a volunteer community band comprised of musicians of all ability levels from beginners to experts, ranging in age from teens to 80s. Under the baton of conductor Jim Wojewoda, the band performs a wide variety of music, including marches, show tunes, big band arrangements, and classics. The emphasis is fun and camaraderie.

There are no competitions and no auditions, just lots of music-making and good times. The band rehearses every Wednesday evening 7 to 9 p.m. at Maple Street School in Contoocook. Anyone interested in playing in the Town Band is invited to come to a Wednesday rehearsal. The concert season begins with Memorial Day festivities. During the summer, Hopkinton Town Band performances include regular Wednesday evening concerts at the Jane Lewellen Band Stand in Contoocook.

Please dust off your horn and join us! For more information, contact band managers, Lucy Gaskill and Melissa Mandrell, at pertice_c@comcast.net.
