Regina Neal is frustrated while working with her braille teacher, Adrienne Shoemaker at Rumford in Concord on Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011. Regina has a rare genetic disorder called Aniridia, where she was born without her irises and is only able to see about 6 inches from her face. She is learning braille to help lessen the strain that reading and writing takes on her eyes.
My daughter is one of her students and has given the gift of reading to my daughter who lost her vision last year. I adore Adrienne. I look forward to my daughter and Regina to meet.
