Robert Mathews makes a foam impression of a new customer's feet in the Mathews' booth at CraftBoston. The Mathews custom-make upper and sole patterns of their shoes to match each customer's feet. Many of their clients have foot problems that make it difficult to fit into typical shoes. "It's especially gratifying to help somebody who's not comfortable otherwise," he says.
