PHOTO: Appreciating the thaw in Pittsfield

After greeting her as she got off the school bus, Axel Brown, 5, left, and his sister Jaclyn, 9, searched the corners of Dustin Park in Pittsfield on Monday afternoon, February 3, 2014 for pieces of ice to throw into the growing puddle of melted snow and ice that formed on the street in front of the bus stop. After a few warmer days over the weekend in the state, much of what's accumulated from January's winter storms began to melt away. Snow is expected to return to the area bringing 5-8 inches starting Tuesday night.
