Lorrie Carey picks flowers from the cooler for bouquets she was making for the Concord Co-Op at Marshall’s Flowers and Gifts, which she owns, in Boscawen on Monday, March 3, 2014. Lorrie and her family live above the shop, which is integrated into their living space. A few years ago, she decided to downsize to primarily local customers after using a wire service to fill orders for years. Making those bouquets to fit the formulas was restricting, she said. Now she can be much more creative for her customers.
