PHOTOS: An afternoon at the Concord skate park

  • Skaters link together to form a human chain while cruising over the makeshift "twinkie" (called that for its shape) at the Concord skate park near Everett Arena on Tuesday afternoon, April 29, 2014. Beyond the pavement of the parking lot at Everett Arena, the hum of polyurethane wheels rolling on concrete is only interrupted by the slap of the same wheels coming down for a landing . On any given afternoon into the warmer spring and summer days at the Concord skate park, skaters can be found testing their styles, catching up and riding. A game of “Follow-the-Leader” was underway on Tuesday as Tyler Castrogiovanni led a chain of skaters over what he calls the park’s pride and joy, a makeshift “Twinkie” (a small cement hill called that for its shape.)
