As a part of the year-long celebration of the town of Weare’s 250th anniversary, residents gathered on the grounds of the Clinton Grove Academy for an Old-Fashioned Lawn Party on Saturday afternoon. The school house was open for touring and outside there were games like sack races, cake walks and jump rope. Folk musician Jeff Warner also provided muscial entertainment. The committee in charge of the town’s anniversary festivities plans on continuing through the rest of the year. The next event will be the unveiling of a commemorative cake during the town’s patriotic parade next month.
