Volunteers and paddlers tied lines across the Winnipesaukee river, linking Tilton and Northfield, in preparation for Sunday’s slalom race. This will be the first running of the Winni Slalom, a new addition to New England Slalom series, a whitewater paddling series that also includes the Blackwater Slalom on the Blackwater river in Webster. Saturday paddlers will practice their runs though gates set up between Class I and II rapids upstream from Tilton Island Park. Competition is scheduled to start on Sunday at 9:00am.
