Eight swimmers took part in the 8th annual 7-mile Squam Swim from Holderness to Sandwich in Squam Lake yesterday morning. The event is an annual fundraiser for the Loon Preservation Committee in Moultonboro. Wendy Van de Poll, who founded the event and has swum across the lake every year, said the event has raised more than $100,000 in its eight years.
