More than 300 kayakers took to Lake Winnipesaukee during LakeFest in Laconia on Saturday morning in an attempt to set a new world record for the largest canoe and kayak raft. Though the gathering fell short of the current record holder formed by a mass of 1,902 boats in New York’s Adirondack Park in 2011, LakeFest organizers believe they did establish a record for New England.
