Voters approved a budget of $3.86 million at town meeting on Wednesday.
Article 3 and 4 were passed by secret ballot. Approval of Article 3 will result in the hiring of two full-time firefighters/EMTs to enhance the performance of the fire department.
Article 4, a special warrant article, passed, 287-62, to raise $260,000 for the purchase of a new ambulance. The current ambulance will be placed as a reserve.
Articles 11 and 12 were the only items on the warrant to fail.
Article 11 intended to allow acceptance of privately donated gifts to construct a building for recreational use.
Article 12 was petitioned in order to discontinue the “Emergency Medical Service Fire and Rescue Apparatus, Equipment and Vehicles Special Revenue Fund” and return its balance of $273,004 to the town’s general fund.
All other articles were approved by voice vote.
