UNH men’s basketball team dominates UMass Lowell, 61-32
LOWELL, Mass. – Daniel Dion scored 20 points, on 8-of-11 shooting, and had seven assists as the University of New Hampshire men’s basketball team dominated UMass-Lowell, 61-32, yesterday.
Dion was 4-of-6 from 3-point range for UNH (5-15, 3-4 America East) and Chris Pelcher added 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Antonio Bivins came off the bench and scored 12 points for UMass-Lowell (5-14, 4-4). Bivins made just two of his eight shots, but was 8-of-9 from the free throw line. Akeem Williams entered the game averaging 16 points per game in conference play, but was just 1-of-11 from the field and finished with four points.
The Wildcats held UMass-Lowell to 15 second-half points – on just three field goals – after leading 25-17 at halftime. The River Hawks made just six of 49 shots (12.2 percent) for the game, but missed only five of their 25 free throws.
