Travis Kvapil takes deal in domestic assault case

STATESVILLE, N.C. – NASCAR driver Travis Kvapil received two years’ probation and must perform 72 hours of community service as part of a deferred prosecution agreement in his domestic assault case.

Under the prosecution agreement reached Thursday in North Carolina District Court in Iredell County, the misdemeanor charges of false imprisonment and assault will eventually be dropped.

Kvapil also had to pay $460 in fees and court costs and must attend an anger management class as punishment for the Oct. 8 incident in his home.

Police records showed Kvapil was accused of pulling his wife by her hair into a bedroom. He also allegedly struck her in the head.

Kvapil does not have a ride for 2014.
