L iving and breathing wrestling year-round brought a milestone for Nick Widmann, a wrestler at John Stark Regional High School, during his school team’s meet against Kearsarge on Thursday night. Widmann, a junior, scored his 100th win, making him the youngest of four wrestlers in the school’s history to reach the milestone. He also tied the record for the greatest number of near-fall points in the school’s history in the same bout against Kearsarge Regional High School’s Alex Wesoja. “He puts a lot of pressure on himself,” said his coach and father John Widmann, who was the first to congratulate Nick at the edge of the mat. “His wrestling has improved a lot in the last month or so, and along with that is his growth in confidence. I was very proud and happy.”
