Previous tournament games: Pittsfield upended No. 7 Moultonborough, 37-27. Groveton rolled past No. 15 Canaan-Pittsburg, 53-22.

head to head: The teams did not meet during the regular season.

Notes: The road to the Division IV title goes through Groveton, or at least it has for the better part of the last decade. After winning its playoff opener, Pittsfield draws the unenviable task of taking on the defending champion Eagles, a program that’s won five of the last six D-IV championships and has been in 12 of the last 15 title games. Pittsfield enters on a five-game winning streak, relying on a feverish defense to lock down its opponents. Groveton has won seven straight after its only loss of the season, a one-point setback to No. 4 Woodsville.
