Pembroke places 12th in Division II skiing championships

Kennett skied to its fourth-straight Alpine title at the long-delayed Division II championships yesterday at Crotched Mountain with 773 points, easily outdistancing Souhegan (712) and Plymouth (688).

Pembroke (436) was the only local team to compete, finishing 12th. The Spartans were led by Hannah Cunningham (60th slalom, 61st giant slalom), Shannon Drouse (57th slalom, 68th GS) and Sarah Hubbard (56th slalom, 71st GS) who scored in both disciplines. Lyla Boyajian (44th slalom) and Larissa Amour (66th GS) scored in one race.

Rachel Demers was the lone Merrimack Valley skier to compete, finishing 32nd in the GS and the 38th in the slalom.
