U.S. snowshoe team has Granite State flavor

A pair of area women were among three Granite Staters named to the five-member U.S. women’s national snowshoe team.

Concord’s Amber Ferreira won the women’s 10-kilometer race at this past weekend’s U.S. national championships in Woodford, Vt. She covered the course in 51:31, with Northwood’s Kristina Folcik right behind in second in 53:51. Laconia’s Abbey Wood was fifth overall in 55:01 to also make the national team, which will compete in the World Snowshoe Championships in 2015.
