The NH Comets 10U fastpitch softball team is looking for one or two strong 10-year-old players for the summer season. The team is currently training indoors every weekend and is scheduled to participate in 4-5 tournaments, including the NHASA state tournament and at least one overnight weekend tournament in Maine. Baseball clinic

Hillcat Baseball Kick-Off Clinic for 5th-8th-graders will be put on by Hillsboro-Deering High Coach Mike Donnell April 6 at HDHS. The clinic for 5th-6th-graders runs from 10 a.m.-noon, with 7th-8th-graders from 1-3 p.m. The first 24 kids from each group to respond will be accepted. Cost is $20. Tryouts/registrations

Concord Little League will be holding tryouts today from 3-6 p.m. at Concord Sports Center for boys and girls ages 9-12. Little Strikers Indoor Soccer Clinic registrations, for ages 3-6, are being accepted at FieldHouse Sports Indoor Sports Facility in Bow. The next five-week session begins today. Lakes Region Flag Football League’s spring season registration is now open for five age divisions: 4-6, 6-8, 9-11, 12-14 & 15-17 (or high school senior). All age divisions are co-ed, and the league is open to those who live in the Lakes Region area. The season runs from early April to mid-June. Practices are once a week with a one-hour game on Saturday. An information night will be held Wednesday from 5:30-7 p.m. at Inter-Lakes Elementary School’s multi-purpose room. Kearsarge Hockey is registering for an October 2014 start. There are no tryouts for the league. Pembroke Academy will host its fourth annual baseball clinic March 30 at the school gym from 9 a.m.-noon. The clinic, for players ages 8-12, will concentrate on throwing, offensive and defensive drills to prepare baseball players for the upcoming season. NH GOLF ASSOCIATION will be conducting a clinic this spring for all those interested in improving their knowledge of the rules of golf. IHB BASEBALL CAMP will be held at Pembroke Academy and is open to both boys and girls ages 6-13 from July 14-17 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is $75 for the week. There will be many special guests, including current and former major leaguers. Registration can be done online at ihbsports.com.

DR. MILLER’S SOCCER SCHOOL for children ages 10-18 will be hosted at Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro. Concussion ImPACT testing will be done March 19 and 21 at Hillsboro-Deering High School from 2:30-4 p.m. All student-athletes in grades 8-12 are highly advised to sign up and test, free of charge. The Concussion ImPACT Questionnaire and Authorization sheets can be downloaded from the HDHS website. Go to hdsd.org and click on HDHS, then Athletics, then Concussion Forms for the drop-down menu. Both forms need to be filled out and turned in to the HDHS Welcome Center by March 18. Put your name on the authorization sheet, and state the date you plan on testing. Special Olympics New Hampshire will host a spring term of the Young Athletes Program at the CenterPoint Church gym, starting March 22. The Young Athletes Program engages children with and without intellectual disabilities through developmentally appropriate play activities and raises awareness about the abilities of children with disabilities through inclusive peer participation. One-hour practice sessions will be held March 22, March 29, April 5, April 26, May 3, May 10 and May 17 from noon-1 p.m. There is no cost. Beaver Meadow Golf Course and Loudon Country Club have formed a reciprocal agreement that will allow members of each course to play the other course at no charge (free green fees) based on their membership type. As an example, 2014 season members who have seven-day-a-week membership will be allowed to play each other’s course seven times; if someone has a five-day mid-week membership they will be able to play each other’s course five times mid-week. Membership forms and rates for the 2014 season are available at beavermeadowgolfcourse.com. The Concord Parks and Rec Office (14 Canterbury Road in Concord, 225-8690) is accepting memberships until the Pro Shop opens (scheduled opening date is April 1.)

CHS Meet the Coaches Night will be held April 2 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium at Concord High. All spring athletes and their parents/guardians are expected to attend.
