Youth hockey

The Concord Capital Sig Sauer Academy squirt 1 team beat the Massachusetts state champions from Triton, 3-2. Brooks Craigue, Tyler Coskren and Zach Drew scored. Assists came from Cam McGonigle, Noah Drew and Joey Ala. Goalie Adam Omundson was outstanding in net.

College standouts

Lindsay Bucknam of Bow scored a goal in SNHU women’s lacross team’s 11-8 loss to Merrimack.

∎ Rebecca Beaulieu of Weare scored a goal for the Mount Ida women’s lacrosse team in a 12-10 loss to St. Joseph’s (Maine).

Ski racing

Bobby Arnold of Bow, 62, finished the 2014 ski season in first place nationally out of 188 racers in the 60-64 Silver Division of NASTAR. Arnold is a member of the Yukon Jacks racing team at Pats Peak.

Concord Rec tennis

Concord Recreation is offering the following tennis programs: Tot Tennis, ages 4-6 (not in 1st grade), introduction to tennis, skill-related games and activities, players will use age-specific equipment including smaller racquets, reduced-sized nets and court, and specialized tennis balls, Wednesdays, May 7-June 11 from 1-1:45 p.m. at Keach Park Tennis Courts; youth tennis lessons (ages 8-17), older participants will transition to full court and learn proper grip stances, service, scoring and forehand/backhand strokes, check website for dates and times; adult beginner tennis (ages 16+), ideal for the beginner who has never played, Thursdays, May 8-June 12 from 7-8 p.m. at Merrill Park Tennis Courts; adult tennis league (ages 16+), advanced beginners to intermediate level players, participants should be able to keep score and play singles and doubles, Tuesdays, May 6-June 10 from 7-8 p.m. at Merrill Park Tennis Courts. Soccer camp

Concord Parks & Recreation is offering a soccer skills development program for children ages 3-6. Classes run Saturdays, May 3-June 14 from 1:15-2:15 p.m.(3/4-year-olds) and 2:15-3:15 p.m. (5/6-year-olds).

Running clinics

Concord Parks & Recreation is offering the following running clinics: The 5K YES I CAN! program (ages 16+ or 15 with an adult) will provide new runners with the tools, training and support needed to accomplish the goal of completing a 5K race. Tips and advice on strengthening, stretching/flexibility, proper footwear choices and running techniques will be provided. No prior running experience is necessary. Running group meets Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. and Sundays at 4 p.m. from April 3-June 5. The Healthy Running Seminar Series gives runners and athletes the inside track on cutting edge technology. There are four seminars in the series (Nutrition, Foam Rolling, Strength and Corrective Exercise and Form and Footwear). Participants can sign up for the series or choose one or more of the individual seminars. This class runs Thursdays, April 17-May 15 from 7-8 p.m.

Babe Ruth signups

Winnisquam Babe Ruth will hold signups for the upcoming season April 2from 5-7 p.m. at the Pines Community Center in Northfield. Players 13-15 years old who live in Tilton, Northfield and Sanbornton are eligible. Bring a copy of birth certificate and a $75 registration fee.
