Monarchs clinch playoff berth with rout of Sharks

The Manchester Monarchs beat the Worcester Sharks, 5-1, last night, clinching an Eastern Conference playoff berth.

Hunter Bishop, Steve Quailer and Brian O’Neill also scored in the first, and defenseman Colin Miller assisted on the first three goals.

O’Neill added his second of the game and 23rd of the season to make it 5-1 at 6:40 of the third period. Jordan Weal assisted on O’Neill’s goals, both of which came on the power play.

Tickets for the first three rounds of the playoffs go on sale April 14 at 9:30 a.m. at the Verizon Wireless Arena box office and at manchestermonarchs.com.
