Winning a state championship is … Really exciting and something I want to experience again.
Other than winning the title, what was the most memorable moment of your season? Our team dinners were always so fun. We ended up just hanging out around the table talking for longer than expected, and laughing a lot. Our team was very close this year!
Who was the unsung hero of your team? I wouldn’t say unsung, but Emily Mulleavey has always been my motivation to push harder. Her defense is so intense, and she never let up which helped us a lot. EM went 110% in both practice and games. Definitely someone I looked up to!
Who was the toughest defender you faced? Throughout the season, I never had a defender that was a lot taller than me until Kingswood’s Emma Tierney, who was 6-foot-2. I had to adjust and make sure I always created enough space for myself to shoot because she was so tall.
What are your two favorite gyms to play in? Our home gym (Merrimack Valley) because there’s nothing like competing on your home court. And the SNHU court is very nice. Especially after winning a state championship on it.
Do you have any basketball superstitions? Before all of our playoff games, I did the same routine each morning and ate all the same snacks. I also wore the same socks for each game (after being washed).
What’s your favorite pre-game meal? They say you should be eating greens, lean meat, or carbs before a game, but my favorite meal is definitely peanut butter and jelly.
How would you improve high school basketball in New Hampshire? So far, my high school basketball experience has been great. One thing I think would be nice is to have college size courts for every game. It’s great to have all that space on the court.
If you weren’t playing basketball in the winter, what would you be doing? What, that would never happen.
What was the last sporting event you paid to go see? My Dad and I went to a Brewster game at Bishop Brady.
If you could go to any sporting event, what would it be? The Olympics! There’s so many cool events to watch.
What’s a sport you’d like to be good at? I’ve always wanted to try ice hockey!
Do you have any hidden talents? When I’m motivated, I can cook some really good peanut butter cookies.
What’s your favorite thing to do on a weekend night? Just be with my friends, even if we just lay around and watch movies. It’s always fun.
What’s your most played song right now? “Greens and Blues” by the Pixies
What’s your favorite website? Netflix.com
What’s your favorite thing to search for on YouTube? Talking dogs … it’s just so cute.
Which do you social media platform do you prefer – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snap Chat, something else? Snapchat, it can always make me laugh.
What’s your favorite place to eat and what do you get there? Panera. I get the chicken caesar salad sandwich on tomato basil bread and lemonade.
If someone was going to make a movie of the MV basketball season, who would you want to play you? Jennifer Lawrence
Who would play Coach Huckins? Well, Coach Huckins has such a great sense of humor, he brings out the best of us when times are stressful by making us laugh … so probably someone like Adam Sandler.
What’s your favorite subject in school? English
If you could go anywhere on vacation, where would you go? Venice, Italy, because there’s always amazing pictures, but I’d like to see it in person.
If you won $25 million in the lottery, what would you do with the money? I would put an outdoor basketball court at my house, ’cause anything beats my dirt driveway court I have right now. I would also donate to a good cause. Then take my family on a long vacation.
