Bartosak shuts out Pirates as Monarchs roll, 5-0

Goaltender Patrik Bartosak earned his first professional shutout with 29 saves as the Manchester Monarchs beat the Portland Pirates, 5-0, on the road last night.

Michael Mersch had two goals for the Monarchs, while Steve Quailer, Brian O’Neill and Scott Sabourin added one apiece. Eight different Monarchs had assists, led by Jordan Weal with two.

Manchester was outshot, 29-28.

The Atlantic Division-leading Monarchs (46-19-2-6) reached 100 points for the season. Portland (24-36-3-8) is fifth in the Atlantic with 59 points.
