Fisher Cats lose opener of long road trip, 4-1 to Mets
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats were shut out until there were two outs in the ninth inning and opened a seven-game road trip with a 4-1 loss to the Binghamton Mets last night.
Fisher Cats starter Scott Copeland (0-3) lasted just 1.2 innings, allowing four hits and three runs (one earned). After John Anderson recorded the final out of the second inning, Casey Lawrence went 5.1 innings in relief for New Hampshire (4-8), allowing one run.
Andy Burns went 2-for-4 with an RBI double, driving in Brad Glenn after his two-out double.
The series resumes tonight at 7:05, with right-hander Aaron Sanchez (1-1, 3.29) pitching for the Fisher Cats against lefty Darin Gorski (1-1, 0.93).
