Fisher Cats force extras before losing, 5-4, in 10 innings to Reading
Cam Perkins hit a two-out double to score Carlos Alonso in the top of the 10th inning and lift the Reading Fightin Phils over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, 5-4, yesterday afternoon.
The Fisher Cats forced extras in dramatic fashion, getting back-to-back two-out home runs from Mike Crouse and Gabe Jacobo. Kevin Nolan walked and advanced to second after the home runs, but was stranded in scoring position as the winning run.
Alonso got on when he bunted and reached first on a fielder’s choice. Albert Cartwright and Brock Stassi had singles to move him up before Perkins delivered the double.
Randy Boone took the loss for New Hampshire, while Hector Neris got the win and Tyler Knigge earned the save for Reading.
