Fisher Cats can’t rally back against Mets

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats fell behind early and kept chipping away, but couldn’t make it all the way back in a 6-5 loss to the Binghamton Mets last night.

The Fisher Cats went down 3-0 in the third, and were down 4-2 before Binghamton tacked on two runs in the top of the seventh. New Hampshire scored three in the bottom half but couldn’t get closer.

Ryan Schimpf homered twice for the Fisher Cats, while Peter Mooney had an RBI double during the three-run seventh. Andy Fermin and Jon Berti had two hits apiece, while Berti and Kenny Wilson drove in runs.

Matt Boyd (five innings, five hits, three runs, four strikeouts) took the loss for New Hampshire.
