Youth baseball

The Weare Nationals (2-0) defeated Hollis-Brookline in NEIBL action. Wesley Lamphere went the distance on the mound for the two-hit shutout. Lamphere struck out three and didn’t walk a batter after the first inning. Catcher Ryan Thompson called a solid game behind the plate and Garrett Kearney played well at shortstop.

∎ The Concord Northeast Cal Ripken U12 Thomson Lawn Care All Stars defeated Seacoast, 5-2. Luke McCusker pitched five solid innings for Concord and Logan Otto played solid defense at short. Jamie Huffman hit a home run and Shepyrd Murdough, Sam Crawford, Kyle Hill, Otto and Larsen Burack contributed hits.

Golf results

In the two-ball best ball event at the Concord Country Club, the team of Norm West and Steve Murphy earned top honors with a score of 56. West and Chick Smith tied for second (57) with West and Kevin Hobbs. West shot his lowest ever score (73).

∎ Gerard Parenteau, Ed Vigneault and Pete Sorette placed first in a Mojalaki Senior League event. Dick Ennis, Bob Mahoney, John Walker and Nick Pirog took second. The team of Dick Markuns, Ted Andrus, Wayne Andrews and Dennis Beaumier finished third. Dave Palfrey, Norm Brooks and Joe Devine were fourth. The Mojalaki Senior League plays every Thursday morning, beginning at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.

Friends golf tourney

The Friends Program will be holding its 17th annual golf tournament to support its Youth Mentoring Program on Sept. 8 at the Concord Country Club. Registration begins at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Sponsorship opportunities are still available. Player fees are $115 per person or $460 per foursome. Concord Crew

Concord Crew is still accepting registrations for its second session of its Learn to Row program for grades 8-12. No experience is required. The session runs July 14-Aug. 7 from 5:30-7 p.m. Costs is $250. Financial aid is available. Register online at concordcrew.org.

Tryouts/registrations

Capital City Vipers football and cheerleading will hold in-person signups tomorrow from 10 a.m.-noon at Dick’s Sporting Goods. There will be a $20 late fee for anyone who registers after July 1. A $50 deposit is required at signups. If you choose to pay the registration fee in full, you may. Concord Capitols Football and Cheer is holding registrations for football and cheer for 2nd-8th-graders on Sunday from 4-5:30 p.m. Both sessions will be at Martin Field in Concord. Call Ray Raimo at 625-2152.

Inside Out Development will hold a summer basketball league at White Park. This 3v3 league is for girls and boys in high school. Players will register as individuals but should note a team name at time of registrations, as teams should be a maximum of five players. Registration includes a T-shirt as well as five weeks of regular games and one week of playoffs. Teams will play a minimum of two games per week. The cost is $80 for residents and $90 for non-residents. Registration deadline is Monday.

Concord City ‘A’ men’s tennis tournament will be held at Concord’s Bow Brook Club from July 7-13. Singles and doubles competition is open to any male resident of Concord, as well as surrounding towns. Entries should be called in to George Lagos at 913-4210. Leave a name, cell phone number and e-mail address. Entrants must receive confirmation to be in the tournament. The deadline for registration is July 4 at 6 p.m. Fees are $20 for singles and $30 per team for doubles.

Quonquer the Quad team fitness challenge will be held Oct. 5 at NHTI. The event will include 20 stunts and 4+ miles on campus, designed by alumnus Eric Marsh of FIT to be completed by teams of four members, 12 years or older. The event will conclude with a kid’s challenge, directed by NHTI cross country Coach Tom Walton. All proceeds will benefit the Jen Kemp Scholarship fund for NHTI students. Camp/Clinics/Lessons

Archery In Motion will hold its Thursday programs from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Racquet Club of Concord at 10 Garvin Falls Road. Equipment is provided if you do not have your own. Fee is $15 per person. Lessons with Siobhan, the state’s only female level III instructor, are Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. Lessons are available for beginners, intermediate and advanced archers. Adult tennis lessons (group lessons) are offered by the Concord Racquet Club. Sessions will be an hour long and a maximum of eight adults can sign up. Cost is $10 per person. Granite State Racing Team/Concord’s Running Club is a club of runners of high school age and older of all abilities. Pembroke Recreation tennis lessons will be held at Pembroke Academy Mondays and Wednesdays through July 16. Registration forms will be available at the Pembroke Town Hall. Fencing classes, held at the Concord Fencing Club, will be offered as a three-week introductory and intermediate lesson for kids ages 7-14. Concord Family YMCA and Seacoast United Express are offering specialty sports camps for kids who have completed grades 3-8. Camps will be at the Abbot-Downing School fields from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. YMCA camps include basketball (Aug. 4-8), lacrosse (June 30-July 3), flag football (July 28-Aug. 1) and Sport a Day (Aug. 11-15) and cost $65. Registration is the day camp starts. Seacoast camps include soccer (July 7-11), baseball (July 14-18) and field hockey (July 21-25) and cost $95.
